Game Table Online News

06.09.10: Lost Souls w/Hidden Messages Now Live and on Sale!

GameTable Online has been hosting Lost Souls as a fun game in a beta state. The game has been promoted to a live game and the real story unfolds! It turns out our game board is more than just a board: it is also a Mayan medium for secret messages that will reveal story elements and help stave off the end of the world, predicted by Mayan legend to be December 21, 2012.

The Lost Souls: Burning Souls novel was created by Jordan Weisman and written by Mel Odom. Weisman was driving force behind FASA’s BattleTech and WizKids’ Mage Knight, Mechwarrior, and Heroclix game systems and Odom is a prolific author whose fictional work has included the Hellgate fantasy series, the Left Behind war stories, novelizations of NCIS, Buffy the Vampire Slayer television series and the Mechwarrior, Forgotten Realms, and Shadowrun game universes.

Here is an excerpt from the book's Website:

The year 2012 marks the end of the Mayan calendar, and it seems like everyone has a theory about what this means. Apocalyptic disasters, sudden mass extinction, World War III … they’ve all got it wrong. Mayan mythology states that every 5,125 years, each species on earth must earn the right to enter into the new world cycle. To win this right, a representative of mankind must play The Game of Lost Souls against the Mayan god Kukulkan. Our champion is Nathan Richards, a 13-year-old from Chicago who is perilously close to failing seventh grade. But hey, no pressure, right?
