Software Engineer (July 2010)

GameTable Online is looking for a Software Engineer with a passion for programming, web application development, and games. In addition to this website, GTO also develops online games for leading clients in the adventure/strategy game industry.

We are looking for candidates who are able to work both independently and alongside our current engineers, well-versed in a range of technologies and products, and motivated to learn more. The focus of our work is Java games on our proprietary game engine but the job responsibilities will evolve based on your skills, strengths, and passions as well as our clients’ needs. We value motivation, efficiency, and creativity.

The position is a contract or contract-to-hire position with a budget of $30K-40K. Our primary goal is to find some in the Western Massachusetts area but are open to alter the position for the right candidate and the right situation.

Requisite Traits:

· Commitment to clean, maintainable code and related disciplines
· Able and willing to wade into and improve older code
· System skills: ANT, Unix scripting (bash, awk, etc.) MySQL, and familiarity with Unix servers
· Programming skills: Java application programming, Spring, PHP, Hibernate, Tomcat, UI design/development
· Other skills of interest: Struts2, Drupal, SOAP, JMS, JMX, iPad/iPhone
