The Strongest Intermediate U Know?

I created this thread for a lot of the reasons you stated. The ranking system is flawed, in that it takes way too long for the rating to catch up to a person's true skill level. GTO plans on addressing the issue later this year.

I am also a proponent of using some type of chess rating system, instead of what we have. With a rating system like that [which is only effected by 1v1 play] a person would be unable to raise his/her rating by noob hunting, because they would get fewer points for their win, while at the same time risk losing many more.

For instance, if I were to play an expert, I would have the chance of winning 32 pts, while risking only the loss of 2 pts., while the expert's change in rating would be the exact opposite. The problem with that: Not likely I'd get as many experts willing to play me as I do now. However, it doesn't seem to do me any good, because after 776 games, one can draw the conclusion that you can't teach this ol' dog new tricks. However, it would not be beneficial for those lower rated players who would benefit from playing experts. So, I don't know that adopting a chess rating system is the way to go.

The question posed by me in the OP, wasn't who the most experienced player was, it was who was the "strongest" meaning the one with the most skill [which would be demonstrated in their results against highly skilled players], that is still rated as an intermediate.

I was mainly curious in finding out if anyone knew of any intermediate players who were kickin' some experts around. That's all.

So, the question, for what I was searching for anyway, was perfectly phrased, unless readers have been misinterpreting my meaning of "strongest" as "experienced" instead of "skilled."

And I can attest to Ace15's superb skillz, as he has pummelled me on a few occassions.

So, I guess Sammog belongs on the list.

Haha, thanks ace15. I don't think I should be included though. I'm a good player but as games against chaps like williamthebloody and a few other LL experts have shown me, I still have quite a way to go. Most of my wins come against other intermediates and late night players, not the cream of the crop. But I freely admit this, often! ^^ I seem to get losses mostly from better LL players or massively risk motivated regular dice players (who usually have terrible records but just rely on those lucky wins). I tend to win by making very few mistakes and pouncing on my opponents mistakes with a conservative but unrefined strategy.

I'm very confused by these stats. They're not yours since your profile says your win percentage is under 60% and you've played many more games. What are these in reference to? Just curious.
