In my 1st 200-400 games, I didn't know what to think about this dice algorithm. Now, after well over 800 games, I have no doubt that there is nothing wrong with it.
Just this morning, in a pbe game, I hit Novo [Japan had a lone tank in there] with USA's 2 inf & bomber. The tank killed both inf & I had to withdraw. On Russia's turn, I hit it with 3 inf & 1 art & lost 2 inf b4 turnin' the tank into sheet metal. This doesn't sound all that terrible, however, I missed 2 times in a row, the tank missed also & I then missed twice in a row while the tank hit twice in a row & finally I killed it and didn't lose anything, so I felt "lucky"
That's dice.
In another game, I hit Germany's 1 inf in Karelia with 2 inf & a fighter, lost both of my inf & had to withdraw & on the same turn, hit the 2 inf in Ukraine with 2 inf 1art & fighter, lost all 3 ground units & had to withdraw, having only killed 1 inf.
That's dice.
ONCE in my 800+ games, I hit West Russia on Russia's 1st turn with 9 inf 1art 1 tank & when the dust settled, all that Russia had left was a tank.
There is only a 0.25% chance of that occurring, which puts the odds @ 399:1
That's dice.
That's just the beginning of the horror stories and I've been on the other side just as often.
If someone doesn't have a "Plan B" for when the dice makes them the bug instead of the windshield... well, that's their problem.
The Experts are not going undefeated, or just having 1/2 losses in the Champion's Division & Division 1 due to "luck" of the dice.
I do so much whining, screamin', cussin' and cheerin' & laughin' when the dice roll!
It's like an emotional roller coaster ride!
You want to see a "group emotional roller coaster ride" ?? Go to a casino and stand around a "hot" craps table for an hour between 9pm & 12pm!
