The last few days

Postby kemal81 » Wed Apr 04, 2012 1:46 am

I didn't know that the statement "take your loss like a man" could be this offensive. I knew it was aggressive but I didn't realize it was this big of a deal. Since it is offensive to some people, I won't use it in the future again. But most importantly, the shameful thing I did was breaking my own rule about giving away names. Even if it was a moment of rage I shouldn't have done it. I have always heavily criticised anybody for giving away names, and in all fairness I can't make an exception for myself. It is not an excuse but at the moment I thought it was the right thing to do as I have seen so many others opening threads which were giving away names or other people asking for names if a post was initially not providing. Anything happens between two players should stay between them or can be reported to GTO admins. An issue might still be discussed in the threads but imo best way to do is with no names. I realized that I made a mistake, and I have to admit it. But I don't want anyone to think that I have changed my opinion about the responses of my opponent. Everybody makes mistakes once in a while but that doesn't mean it should be responded by offensive language that goes over and over repeatedly especially if that person is not responding back the same way. Through pm's I had with some of you, some of you agree with me and some don't, with my last statement. So I will leave that to be my final opinion on the matter. Anybody, and I mean anybody, is welcome to respond as long as we don't start another flame war. I also want to thank the GTO admins and players who took the time to discuss this matter with me via pms the last few days.

I`ve played Stu a few times. He doesn`t stall ,he doesn`t show up late for his turns and he takes his loses like a man. Your accusation is rediculous.

What a man!!!!!

Not only did you apologize, but you called your action of naming your opponent as being "shameful", and you accepted responsibilty for anything else you may have done wrong conerning the matter! I don't know that I could have been that apologetic.

However, now you need to ignore ignorant or attacking type responses to your apology. Just freakin' ignore them. Please do not repond to them. The people that make them most likely are probably not worth your time to respond.

It's just not worth it!

Trust me, the more you ignore them, the more upset they get & the more respect you gain from the others who really count.

Now about the "sensitivity" issue.......let me tell a story about a game I recently had against someone I have known since I have been member. It was a low luck game & he was hittin' on his 33% chances over & over again! So, I started teasing him about it but in a nice way I thought. Like: "Haven't you run out of 33%r's yet?" This is where in LL you hit a deadzone that has 1 enemy inf in it & it gets a hit on the 1st roll. I go in with enough to kill it on the 1st roll, but he gets a kill also

Or, he hits Belorussia as Germany with 1 inf 2 fighters, against my 1 inf, gets a kill & I miss =)

Well I guess he started to take me seriously because he pointed out the times I got lucky & I had to quickly tell him I was joking!

I told him I knew that games were hardly ever lost, if ever at all, in low luck because of the dice and was just kiddin'.

So, you have to be careful.......unless of course, you play 1v1 using skype with video so you can see each other's faces. Now that would be cool! To see your opponent's face when he fails at an attack.......you'll know when you got him/her on the ropes!! Sounds like a lotta' fun.

I have deleted a post in this thread because it did not speak to the topic and was only intended to continue a problem between users.

The stupid mutt probably thinks that is great but the truth is, he is a fat little mutt who cant run that fast. Would never happen like that.
