The ultimate battle between Revised Axis and Allies and 42 Axis and Allies! 36 players will compete. 4 players will play in 2 medal games- and only 1 will win The Gold and be the master of both versions! Choose your Version and Battle for Honor and Glory!!

Players will only be allowed to enter in one conference. All divisional and playoff games will be played in the version of the conference entered.

Per player cost: 50 coins
36 players will be split into 2 conferences
Axis and Allies Revised Conference & Axis and Allies 42 Conference
Each conference will be split into 3 divisions of 6 players

.....Revised Conference Divisions.....
1......Gold Division
2......Juno Division
3......Sword Division

.....42 Conference Divisions.....

2......Flintlock Division
3......Majestic Division

.....Regular Season.....

In each division & conference- all players will play up to 5 interdivisional matches of 2 games-one as Axis, one as Allies totalling 10 games max.

After each player completes the scheduled games the top 2 players from each division as determined by earned game points (see game points) will be seeded into the playoffs.

Additionally the remaining top 2 players from each conference will earn a wildcard playoff spots and seeded accordingly into the first round.

From the time the regular season starts you will have 8 weeks to complete your games either live or over PBEM. Both players must agree to play live instead of over PBEM, PBEM is the normal mode of play. If you do not have a PBE subscription and are participating in this event, and want to play games in a PBE format, games will be automatically created for you as part of your tournament registration. PM hippytrip for help with setting up revised games. PM commander_chaos for help with setting up 42 games.

It is your responsibility to complete your scheduled games on time, once the deadline is set no new games may be started after that date. If you have not started or completed all of your games by the deadline you will have to stand on your points as is. Should player(s) drop out of divisional play I will reschedule as the need arises in order to complete 10 games.

In the event of point ties, players needing to break a tie in order reach the playoffs will play a one game playoff that will be open for bidding to determine sides. All other ties for players that are already in the playoffs via point winnings will use their records to break any ties for bracket seeding purposes only.

.....Playoffs Matches.....

8 playoff spots in each conference (16 total) will be awarded and seeded according to points earned during divisional play (see game points) Playoff games will use the best of 3 format- one game as Allies, one game as Axis. The third game (if necessary) will be determined by bidding.

All games must be completed and posted in order to be awarded points- all freezes/crashes will have to be replayed until completed (in pbem an attempt to rollback the game will be used to fix the issue)- any type of game tampering to freeze/crash a game in order to prevent a loss, if proven, will result in disqualification from the remainder of the World Series. Intentional stalling or lack of sportsmanship, if proven, could result in a point penalty or potential disqualification.

No forcing surrenders in PBEM will be allowed unless the tourney host says so. You must try to work the issue out with your opponent first. PM commander_chaos if unable to.

At least a 2 day grace period will be allowed in PBEM games- after that has expired I will force surrender if appropriate- the other player will be awarded the win and points, the force surrendered player will earn no points for the loss and could face potential disqualification.

You'll have to play Revised to if you want to be crowned the champ of both. I'm no '42'er, c_c, so I guess that means I won't be joining the party.

I have no problem with revised cause i am in Champions Division anyway but i like 42 better. This Championship is to see who is the best in both versions so i guess its not for everyone, only the best players in GTO will compete :)

Greetings and good evening to all

I'm new to EVERYTHING here but eager to play AA42 online, especially with great players. I have little experience but am very comfortable playing any power or side whether I make the bid or pick the side. It would be fantastic if I could participate in a competition such as this, against skilled opponents in a forum where you know activity will never be a problem.

Like I stated, a true noob to these online applications but have learned very quickly. As for the game itself, though new to 42, I've always been exceptional with the original and though that probably means I could fare better with REVISED, 42 just rings truer for me I suppose and I've fallen in love with her :P

As for the business at hand: I reviewed the messages throughout; and because I take the impression that this event is expected to include many of the best players who love the game and are dedicated to the competition, I felt it prudent to post this. Though I have not seen any restrictions or prerequisites in place in terms of eligibility, and appear to have successfully registered, I wanted to introduce myself with this disclosure all the same. I don't wish to venture where I ought not be, so I would understand if my participation would fall under scrutiny based on experience.

So if you will have me aboard, I shall prove a fully active and formidable foe. But registered or not, I will respect any genuine and reasonable concerns or objections that might arise. I LOVE chess and have played at many sites and have seen situations like mine get many backs up - especially if my inclusion will unfairly displace a deserving member; so I just want to be sure it's all good 8)

I have scanned some forum topics and it is clear that there is a great group of regulars with friendly, constructive dialogue debating strategies & league rules, providing assistance & insight, even the trashtalking - it's all just dope :D . An impressive community that I'd like to be a part of.

Well that's my opening speech. Kudos to all if I had the coins. World Series, AA42 League, (maybe REVISED some day), or even among regular games - I hope and look forward to seeing all of you on the fronts.
Highest Regards,

Cyclonus

I agree with bb82, if u limit this to a players over 6th level in 1942 u will have to kick a few more players (including a bb82 - nothing personal). If he paid the coins and he wants to play let him, u never know what he can achieve, i remember that year ago noob with exp of only few games won a 42 tourney and become a first Champion of 42 league. Please dont look at the people through their stats and u could be surprised.

Well he will get 10 games of experience.

This will go a long way in perhaps learning the game.

He also needs only to seed 8th to get chance for a play off upset!!!!

TOURNAMENT RULES UPDATE:
If you do not have a PBE subscription, are participating in this event, and want to play games in a PBE format, you can have me create the games for you as part of your tournament registration. If you choose to do this you should PM me and your opponent with the specifics of the game. I have to create PBE games for a whole host of tournaments so be specific to what the game should be set to: tournament and conference that this is for, players, sides, and all game settings even if they are the default.
