Renaming PBE Games?

Honestly I haven't seen any viable suggestions....I am not sure why PBEM is not a good one....it encapsulates exactly what it is

I like Play by E-mail just fine. It's short, sweet, and to the point.

Maybe something like "Play Anytime". You can play now or later, by yourself or together...no need to wait or hurry, play at your own pace with no worry!

Honestly, "Sit-n-Go" rolls of the tongue and accurately describes it...You sit, take your turn, and go while you wait for your opponent's turn.

Me too. Or "Savable Game Play". But something should be done since pbe is outdated (except for the hardcore/older gamers). Not many will know what that means when they see it at the main page. Nor are they likely to click on 'email' games.

But you should add PBEM at the end so EVERYONE will know what it is referring too.

For example, "play GTO's Save & Play (PBEM)".

Honestly I like "Extended Timer Play" or something along those lines. Any player looking for longer turns than those offered in live games, either 24 hours, 2 days, a week or more will look to that and read its description. Then in the description you can offer a detailed explanation of how it works. Another option is "Hot Seat Play," but I think "Extended Timer Play" is more accurate and is still easily abbreviated for conversational purposes to "ETP" as in "Hey can we switch to ETP, I need to go to bed..."

If nothing else, it removes the somewhat negatively held (and inaccurate) connotation associated with what a new player to gto would think of when first reading "play by e-mail."

Also playing by "e-mail" is not accurate...

It is only a notification by e-mail...

The playing is "extended" by all means... Still played by logging into the site and running game.

I think it does if we negate the idea that anything but notifications are done by e-mail. It's a "play and save" or "savable" game with email notifications for your turn. I like both of them.
