August 16 Fixes

Postby RobEng » Thu Aug 16, 2012 11:52 am

GM attack rolls are now showing up in chat.

Added a loading indicator when you are downloading content in campaigns so you can be assured that the server is working.

good stuff

i also noticed that if i have multiple pcs, it now differentiates between which one i am rolling with. it used to always just show one name.

while were talking about improvements, you should change the 'rpgto bug' forum to be 'rptgo bugs and 'feature requests'. there were lots of good, mutually beneficial ideas from the old forums, but there isnt really a place for that right now

also, a subscriber-only hidden forum would be killer. also 'game master seeks players' and 'players seeking' imo should all be one forum, the find a campaign forum, with lfr being a sub-forum there. it makes it easier and more familiar to use this site for recruiting

Done

I am not sure I understand what you are suggesting here.

I will ponder this. What does "lfr" stand for?

for the first part, a private forum section for rpgto insiders? like our accounts are tagged as insiders, so only we can log in there? just a thought, not a big deal

lfr stands for living forgotten realms, it is kind of like an organized-play 4e subculture. it has its own distinct rules for advancement, etc and in the old forums it had its own subforum in the 'find a campaign' area

I am fine with sub forums within the D&D section and as a person with limited contemporary RPG experience, I was going to wait and see how activity goes before creating those sub-forums. It seems to me if there were private forum section, there would need to be a gatekeeper. In the GTO forums we have Clubs and Clans section that have formed and we have given them their own section and have their own leaders. All of them are public but they could be made private, to varying degrees.

What size and type of image were you trying to load? How long did you give it?

i still think players seeking campaigns and gamemasters seeking players should be a combined forum, 'find a campaign'. the way its spread out now for example, there is a guy looking for a 3.5 game in one forum, dm mentioning a 3.5 game in the other, and they haven't noticed each other. its much more intuitive to just put them together.

I concur in combining these two areas. It was so easy on the D&D Forums to pop into 1 forum and post. Now I'd have to do two posts? Nope, don't like.

Agreed.
