Summer 2011 PBEM 1v1 Revised Tourney- Signups and Rules

Please read the entire rules to make sure this is a tournament for you

1v1 PBEM Revised tourney. I will take the first 32 signups or until June 30th, whichever occurs first. The rules are as follows:

*Single elimination until the semifianls and finals where it will be 2 out of 3
*10 coin signup Must be paid to be registered no spots will be held

*A bid will be used until the semi's/final's where the bid will be 7g (Bidding is explained below)
*9 vc's, 2 day timer (also explained below) regular dice, no tech
*Seeded by experience points
*Top Prize of (Version TBD) A&A Board game
*2nd Place receives a Trophy (It's a nice one)
*Additional prizes posted soon

BIDDING

The higher rated player opens the bid. The bid is to take the axis.

So if Player A opens the bid at 10 germany, Player B can either give player A that bid or counter with a lower bid (like 9 germany). Bidding will continue until 1 player "gives" the bid. (Meaning if the bid reaches german 7 from Player A and at that point Player B says you can have it, then Player A is the axis with a 7 german bid). A German Bid is higher than a Japan Bid. So German 7 outranks Japan 7 and so on.

Once the bid is established, PM Robeng and I with the result and a game will be set up at no additional cost to you. Please include all players on the PM so the opponent can see the bid is going through.

*******In the semis/finals, each player will play a game with a 7 german bid (for games 1 and 2). If a game 3 is needed the bid will be used as described above

2 Day Timer

To avoid lengthy delay's between matches, we will be enforcing a 2 day timer. The first time force surrender comes up, you will receive a warning. A second 2 day lapse with no move and the game will be awarded to your opponent. In the event you know you will be gone more than 2 day's, the following (summertime ) exception is available on a 1 time basis (not per round but for the whole tourney.)

PM Me, Rob and your opponent to notify us you will be away. This can be done 1x by a player in the tourney and must not be any longer than 7 days. I'm not trying to be stubborn, but it can drag a PBEM Tourney down when there are long waits between matches.

This should be a fun tourney. A chance to see who is King of the Hill of the Revised edition

I've finally cut back my games so this tournament came at a great time.

for instance, after 2 days the force surrender comes up on player a. Player B informs you, so you send a warning via PM. Player A does not log in for a week, so he does not get the warning until the game is now 9 days since a move. When does the second offense come in. I ask now because I can see someone doing this.

I'll update this tonight when I am home from work.

The expectation after 1 warning is that 2 days do not go by again. If someone does not login or do their moves for a week....then this is not the tourney for them.

So to summarize, Player A goes 2 Day's without moving, is notified by PM. Should 2 days go by again (Whether it's a new 2 day situation or an additional 2 day's from the warning) the match is forfeited.

PBEM allows for some leniency for those (like me) that cannot guarantee a set 4 hours to play, however for the purposes of tournament play it really should be a daily move.

Who sends the warning? Or is it all automated?

Every day might not be possible, so I like the every other day at a minimum rule.

Normally the coins paid are divided among the top 3 or 4. I have PM'd Rob to see if he wants to handle this any different and will post soon
