When the aawc outpost was first put up, many became offended and outspoken against the idea aawc could be a part here even though it was a mutual idea from both gto and aawc.

If you question dgss1's motives, I have visited the AAWC forums and see that he, along with stuka3-mac_daddy, have been suggesting more cooperation between AAWC and GTO. At AAWC there also seems to be some resistance or apathy towards GTO but hopefully that will change in time and I am a patient man. To all the folks promoting GTO at AAWC thank you for sharing the opinion that we offer different things and can coexist.

I would like to see the bids and sides people play(or like to play) and their win lose ratio playing that side at a certain bid prior to playing them. That will allow me to bid properly knowing what I percieve of my skills. If I am going up against a player who can do more with less, I want to know that. It is not that I do not want to play him but rather be in the know of his record first.
So, if I am plugging aawc, it is because I like the stats. Its not all about rates.

Agreed. I am avid Heroclix player and I play-by-forum post at one site and get my rules clarification at another site. While one site serving both my needs might be nice, but I like that the PBP site has my games without all the noise/chatter of a rules chat site.

dgss1 wrote:When we going to have global?

We have not seriously discussed the Global sets of A&A. Our next new games will be other titles.

dgss1 wrote:If I plug aawc, others will debate it. If gto plugs them, it might be better recieved than a cabinet member doing it since that has already back-fired. I am not a politician nor a good writer.

If you want to run ideas past me and for me to be the mouthpiece, I am very willing to help. Thank you for all your plugging.

Rob,
Yes, I have tried to keep aawc boards aware of new games here. As I do use Ventrillo where a fair amount of aawc members hang, I also bring it up in conversation more then type. though do try and let the masses know via their boards. So, since people see me here plugging Aawc, they should also be aware, at Aawc, I am plugging GTO! Thank you for pointing that out Sir!

Team play is a great way of playing a&a. It should not restrict anyone from individual play. Being a active member of any team, communication and looking for team games is all part of being on a Team/clan.
Speaking for myself, there are times I just want to do something silly and I would rather do that by myself then "share" the randomness.
Like going for the Midway Medal gto has in 42, and if I win, Great-
As much as I would rather win all my games, there are other aspects to consider at both places and I would not want to be limited to only playing on a team.
Aawc, just brings in another aspect to a game I love. I do miss posting games there for the stats. Seeing who just slaps me around the board, and who does not is enjoyable for the next time I meet them. I might try harder to not to get slapped so hard. Like wise, I may try something different at someone I tend to beat up on-

I've looked at the AAWC site a number of times and downloaded the client. I am impressed with some of the offerings, and clearly see the pros of AAWC in terms of flexibility and (most importantly) stats. I did not in join as I find the GTO community meets my needs for A&A gaming plus has much more (I like other games). My personal take therefore is there is no real downside in collaborating on A&A stats, or if GTO has resources and ambition, developing its own specific stats piece. I am too lazy to load them myslef however given I play most my games at GTO.

Lack of A&A stats is somewhat fustrating at GTO. Would have been nice, or instance, to understand required bid in AA42 faster. I'm not suggesting a big piece, you could even post a an excel extract every 3 months and just leave it to the community to come up with interesting insights (yes we'd have to talk about contents in excel).

Attached an example I did for A&A league last year, that a player's improvement on win % rises only 10% from 50 to 600 games won previously.

That is very intresting GingerB....I have often thought, after 20 to 30 games, a players stats dont change a heck of alot.
I am not sure what you downloaded at aawc. It doesn't take a download to view stats or even join. However, there is a download for 3rd edition right on the home page.
You can easily view anyones stats without being a member. there is a drop down right on the home page. You can check out mine, or better yet, Hombre or Freshprince....they are both in there,(and other gto members) you might have to use the more members option- Theirs are more intresting then mine(for 4th edition anyways). Though, mine climb up within 4thedition(revised) from when I first started playing it( I was a 1400 player). I played alot against aagamer, Hombre, Freshprince a few times as well, who slapped me around the board....ggggrrrrrrr, learned some from them to slap others-Even DeathMatchGee who I dragged into Revised, he quickly learned to spank me around. ggggrrrrr, dmg is a great long time player who I have met ftf and played several times when I lived in Az several years ago-(we were 4 hrs apart)I need to meet up with Gamer, that is long overdue. Aa Mike?

I kinda skipped over 42 to 50th, now Global. So I had an idea of bids & fleet strats. (refering to your 42 bid statement) I found it funny alot believed the allies need the bid. The only person I believe who says that is true would be Zukvo, yet another Awesome player who I get spanked by-Yet to play him at 42 but a great example of bidding down prior to playing-

It certainly is my belief that aawc would be good for gto users who want more from stats. It is that simple. I am one of those users. I would like to see the bids and sides people play(or like to play) and their win lose ratio playing that side at a certain bid prior to playing them. When I saw the "clan" and groups of players playing together. That is just like Squads at Aawc. Squads have Long been a part of the game. Teams are a great way to play. There is nothing better than discussing moves and ideas with someone. If gto was going to start making team sections on the message boards then I Really Would Like to See Aawc's squadron page be a part of it. Then I might step up and captain a team. Currently I am on the ToJo MoJo's.

Rob, I am still active with aawc, as well a cabinet member. Though, I spend most my time here. I have not played 3rd, guessing a year? Yes, I still share the belief with you, A&A players want more from stats, Again, I am one of those players.

Now I would rather be playing Global and Both of you should know that, I plug Global a&A more than aawc Rock. :)
When we going to have global? I am playing traditional pbem and I cannot take all the typing and double checking, 2nd ed was much easier! I plug playing Face to Face and tossing the real dice.

Why would they have to withdraw from all tournaments? Constricting gaming is the last thing I want.

Players will start complaining about time constraints.

Well I would hope they finish their commitments to whatever tournaments/leagues they are in before they join others (if time is a factor).
