New Euphrat & Tigris Game Board

Postby RobEng » Tue Apr 12, 2011 5:04 pm

We are excited to introduce a new game board for Euphrat & Tigris (Tigris & Euphrates). Our version is based on the artwork from the original 1997 version but the game was republished in 2007 with this alternate second board. We decided to take the old artwork to create the alternate mapboard. There are no new rules, just a new layout to spice up your play

The new board is our first "GTO Extra," a bonus feature that goes beyond the basic implementation of the game. The new board activation costs 10 GTO Coins. Unlike our Premium Game Activations, only the table creator needs to own the board and they can share it with the other players for free! Of course if you want to be cool and be the first "kid on the block" with the new board whenever you want you should go to the Premium Extras page now.

Euphrat is a classic Eurogame by master game designer, Reiner Knizia. It has won numerous European game awards and made Green Ronin Publishing's list of 100 Best Hobby Games of all time. The game melds together a light conflict game with the elegance of an abstract game.

This is truly a gamer's game - great - though challenging which sometimes intimidates people.

I love the new board and I still cannot fathom why this game is not immensly popular. We need more tourneys I think cause it is super intense multiplayer; someone described 4 player as being like a knife fight in a phonebooth and I think that is a great description.

It used to be our most popular game. Percentage-wise it used to dominate GTO game plays more than Axis does now. In general, we would like to have people play more game titles not only because we think it makes for a better business but because we are gamers who think that some of our games don't get the attention and play they deserve. We are hoping to get some more Eurogame titles so we can capture a larger section of that subgenre.
