If you find yourself with this problem and want to work around it, you can enable a version of Java 1.6. To do this:
- Open your Java Control Panel
- Windows/Vista systems: click on the Start button, select Control Panel, and click on Java; with Vista and Windows 7 you will need to view the control panel with large or small icons, instead of the categories view
- Macintosh systems: select the Java Preferences
- Ubuntu systems: go System Preferences on the Ubuntu desktop and click on Sun Java Control Center on the menu
- From the Java Control Panel click on the Java tab
- Under Java Application Runtime Settings, click View; this will bring up a listing of all the Java versions on your computer
- Disable the 1.7 product(s) and enable a 1.6 product
- Click OK and then Apply
- If you have no 1.6 versions to use, I am afraid Oracle has taken down the links to download older version and you can shoot me a PM and I will advance your turn for you (if it is during the purchase phase, please list what you would like to buy)
