GTO was created to a website for hobby board gamers to gather and play. That is what the majority of the GTO Community seeks. To ensure this environment we strive to promote fair and sportsmanlike behavior with following CoC guidelines:
If a User of GTO has demonstrated he or she cannot follow this Code of Conduct then the member may lose access to ALL of his or her accounts and all associated content and screen names. GTO DOES NOT ENJOY BANNING USERS. It is not why we built and operate GTO but to ensure a comfortable game site we do have to do it from time-to-time. Our typical progression of action is:
This explanation of disciplinary procedure is meant to be a guideline for members to understand what their status may be with regard to the process. It is only a guideline and GTO may deviate from this procedure at any time in any manner it deems appropriate without notice. A specific chat, forum, list or online game situation may require other measures to ensure the orientation of the Site.
GTO has designated a number of volunteer Moderators to help out with customer service support. This includes answering basic question, guiding new users, providing extra eyes for the GTO Staff and maintaining the Code of Conduct. They are not employees of GTO but merely Users who have demonstrated outstanding behavior and are supporters of the GTO cause. We have empowered Moderators to issue formal warnings and 24-hour bans when they believe that the CoC has been violated.
The Forum and Game Chat are open and public areas for all to see. GTO will endeavor to keep all Private Messaging viewable only to the sender and addressed recipient. Nevertheless as system operators, GTO may look at Private Messages if there is reason to believe that the Private Messages are being misused or there is a concern to protect GTO or other users from injury, damage, or liability. This right is outlined in the federal Electronic Communications Privacy Act (ECPA). If we find that Private Messages are connected with illegal activities, GTO may disclose it to the authorities to protect the entire GTO company and community.
GTO is a meeting place only (and not a publisher) of its interactive community. The content is supplied predominantly by Members. GTO will contribute with game oriented current event postings and responses to Members' queries. GTO shall not be responsible for policing, monitoring, or editing such content. Despite the preceding statement, GTO shall have the right, but not the obligation to monitor such content in order to respond to or comment upon communications by Members and in order to determine compliance with the foregoing Communications Guidelines. GTO shall have the right and sole discretion to edit, to refuse to post or to remove any content whatsoever which it finds to be in violation of these provisions or which it finds in its sole discretion to be otherwise objectionable for any reason.
